We teach adults, parents and school-age children. Below you will find information on programs that are being offered at this time. If you have any questions feel free to contact us and we will answer any questions you may have.
Classes:
ASL I:
This is a beginner level course and introduces you into the world of ASL. It runs for 8 weeks and students can expect to learn about Deaf culture and fundamental signs like the ABC's and numbers.
ASL II:
This course works well for individuals who already have a knowledge of the basics and want to learn more. It runs for 12 weeks and students can expect to learn more useful signs that assist in conversations. For example: emotions, thoughts, money, shopping and travel.
Schools:
We now are pleased to offer schools the opportunity to have ASL in their curriculum. Classes are offered in several formats: 4 Week Course, 8 Week Course, 12 Week Course and a custom-tailored course that can run the entire school year.
4 Week Course:
This course teaches the basics and introduces students to ASL.
8 Week Course:
This course includes more vocabulary than the 4 week course and introduces conversational topics to allow the students to become more comfortable using ASL in conversation.
12 Week Course:
This course focuses primarily on conversations. It is intended for students who already know a fair amount of signs and are already comfortable using those signs in conversations. The goal for this course is to allow students a greater level of fluency using ASL.
Custom Course:
This is ideal for a school who would like to offer "ASL as a Foreign Language" as part of the school's curriculum. It can also be used for schools who would like to pick and choose what signs they would like their students to learn.
Presentations:
Creative Hands will custom tailor a presentation to suit many types of needs. It can be from 1 hour to 3 hours. This is great for educational settings, groups that would like only one lesson, and occupational settings.
